FLORENCE & PARIS

We did the rounds. The showrooms, the trade shows, the catwalks, the parties. We chased every appointment, every presentation, every perfectly staged moment designed to tell us what next fall/winter is all about.

Florence first, then Paris, with Milan coming up. Fashion locations with very different dialects. And still, the clearest message did not come from the runways.

The halls were crowded.
The schedules were tight.
The answers weren’t inside.

Brands showed up bold and polished.
Different origins, different roots, different fabrics, different designers. Spotlights, decorations, smart props—everything fresh and catchy.
Still, no message.

Exhibitors, visitors, buyers, editors. All in a rush, cutting through halls and showrooms with phones in hand, trying to capture every moment and finally get the message.

The pace was relentless. Exhibitors moved quickly, visitors moved faster, and collections passed in fragments. Florence and Paris unfolded as a sequence of impressions rather than conclusions.

The shows set the agenda.
The designers set the silhouettes and the colors.
The industry set the fabrics.
All lining up, asking the audience to cooperate.

And yet, personally, I refuse to cooperate. And maybe that’s exactly the point.

Because outside the venues and the flashlights, outside the conversations about “key pieces” and “seasonal stories,” the streets refused to cooperate.

That’s where the vibe is found.
That is where everything falls into place.
Outside the venues, the pressure dissolved. The pace didn’t slow, but the picture sharpened. Personal, referential, sometimes contradictory. Pulled from different brands, different histories, different lives. Rules bent or ignored, and instinct prevailed.

Because fashion, ultimately, doesn’t live under spotlights.
Designers create, industries supply, brands apply, and broadcast the message.

When finally released into the streets, it either endures or fails. Fashion survives only where you allow it to live!
